Course Overview

This is a qualification designed for adults who have an interest in nursing or science as a professional career.The Access to Science Level 2 course is delivered over two or three days. Access to Science Level 2 is well established and is a progression pathway to Access to HE Diploma at level 3.

The course topics include:

Science units – Human Biology and Chemistry


Certificate in Progression – Career Planning and next steps


Award in Infection Prevention and Control


Transferable skills – ICT, academic writing , working in teams, time management, interview skills, CV development are embedded within the course

We offer extra-curricular activities such as:

Macmillan fund raising

Walking for health at Macmillan Resource Centre at Croydon University Hospital

Many more volunteering opportunities.

Employability training workshops with the Ministry of Defence Education Outreach Programme.

Upon successful completion of your course you can enter full-time employment or after completing the Level 3 progress into university to pursue a degree in the sciences.

Entry Requirements

All applicants will be required to take an English and Mathematics BKSB assessment, regardless of previous qualifications. All applicants will be interviewed to ensure that the course is the right choice based on previous educational and work experience. Every student will need to provide at least one satisfactory reference to support their application.
