This course starts the week commencing Monday 15th January 2024.
This course is designed for those who have experience of working in construction and looking to enhance their career prospects in the industry.This programme will develop your understanding of current health, safety, and welfare legislation and you will develop the skills to undertake risk assessments.
You will also learn the techniques of how site investigation and evaluation can influence the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings and their substructures. We will provide opportunities for you to develop your skills in using analytical methods and statistics to solve problems as well as an understanding of the properties and structural behaviour of construction materials. You will also discover how market forces and government policies influence the construction industry.
This course is a practitioner (skills-based) programme based on core areas that analyse building energy requirements in terms of the external environment and internal space and the effect of this built environment on energy resources. It considers the principles and analysis of associated building engineering systems, leading to the understanding of control, simulation, and modelling techniques.
