Course Overview
This is a challenging and stimulating course that will encourage you to channel your creativity into individual creative investigations. Learn how to investigate and explore themes and ideas through the work of past and contemporary artists. You will develop your practical drawing skills together with painting, printmaking, 3D and more experimental work.

These include trips to galleries, outdoor drawing sessions, and talks by visiting professionals, such as local designers and artists. These activities allow students to engage with the wider art world and gain inspiration from real-world contexts.

Assessment
Students can choose from a variety of academic and vocational courses, and our art department is committed to helping each student select the most suitable program. Our well-equipped Visual Arts facilities support a broad range of media, including printmaking, textiles, photography, and graphic design. Dedicated resource areas, such as those featuring Apple Mac computers, are also available to enhance the learning experience.

Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs grade 9-4 and a satisfactory school reference.Including English Language at grade 4, maths at grade 4 and Art at grade 4 or a relevant subject as a minimum. A suitable portfolio will be required. Students who do not have a GCSE (or equivalent) in Art and Design or Textiles will be considered on the basis of a portfolio review.
