Course Overview
This course will give you the introductory skills to either start a career in sport or progress within employment in the sector. This qualification can also prepare you for higher or Further Education and gives a good introduction to the sport vocation. Areas of study include: Anatomy and physiology, Practical sport, Fitness testing training, Sports coaching, Sports injuries and Health and wellbeing.

Course Highlights
The College offers various educational experiences such as visiting speakers, an assault course, a stadium tour, team-building paintball experiences, and visits to university sports science labs.
Full-time students at Coulsdon Sixth Form College can apply to join the College Football Academy, which provides elite coaching, individual fitness program guidance, access to the College Fitness Suite, nutrition advice, and the opportunity to play in national competitions, as well as coaching and officiating qualifications.
Additionally, there are opportunities for students to develop their sporting skills through external coaches and a strength and conditioning program.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
Completion of this qualification indicates a strong understanding of sports concepts and practical applications, providing a solid foundation for further study at Coulsdon Sixth Form College in a BTEC Level 3 Programme in Sport or other Level 3 BTEC qualifications and A levels, depending on the grades achieved.

Assessment
Students will be assessed entirely through coursework, developing analytical skills and self-analysis crucial for further study in Sport at BTEC Level 3. The exam board for this course is NCFE

Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs grade 9-3 and a satisfactory school reference.Including English Language at grade 3, maths at grade 3
and Core and Additional Science at grade 3 as a minimum. Equivalent qualifications will be considered.
