Course Overview
This course will provide you with an interesting and stimulating approach to the study of science. This course covers a wide range of scientific disciplines and is a good choice if you are interested in developing an understanding of science and how to solve scientific problems. As part of the course you will be able to undertake your own scientific research project as well as completing practical assessments. Course units will cover aspects of physics, chemistry, biology, the environment, health and disease and the universe.

The program is delivered by our highly and professional staff. You will learn in our modern, well-equipped laboratories, where you will develop essential practical skills in electronic, microbiological, forensic, and physiological techniques, along with standard laboratory practices.
Trips and Activities:
You will have the chance to participate in field trips and visits, engage with guest speakers from the industry, and work on mini-projects. Examples of visits include Ecology Centres for environmental management studies and collaborations with external organizations to plan a mini eco-project.
Guest Speakers
Previous guest speakers have included working forensic scientists, providing valuable insights into one of the Level 3 pathways you may pursue.

Assessment
Your progress will be assessed throughout the year via a series of assignments and projects, which will include:
Practical reports
Scientific investigations
Presentations
Significant portion of your assessments will focus on practical investigations, with tutor observations factored into the final evaluation. Additionally, there will be some external assessments in the core units, along with a practical assessment that combines with coursework to determine your final grade.

Entry Requirements
3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 vocational qualification including, English, maths and Science. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered.
