Course Overview
This course is designed to give learners a creative and
technical understanding of fashion and textile design, and to explore the
different disciplines within the fashion industry through workshops and
projects. Students will engage in a multitude of subject areas, such
as:
Research and Idea Creation Fashion illustration and Drawing Fashion Design Textile
Design and Fabric Manipulation Digital Design Application – Photoshop,
Illustrator, InDesign Pattern Cutting Garment Construction Fashion
Promotion
The aim is to equip the learners with a broad basis of
industry relevant skills and to allow them to progress to either employment
within the Fashion industry or continue with HE
studies.

Course Highlights
The course provides a broader sector experience and
encourages learners to take on individual research and workshops, enabling them
to be further prepared for higher-level learning or entering the fashion
industry through employment.Teaching and guidance from
lecturers working in the industry.We have well-resourced
studios and workshops for all disciplines, and our fashion studio offers the
opportunity to work on industry and domestic machinery.The course includes work experience, enrichment activities, live
events and collaborative projects.

Assessment
All units are internal, and assessment is designed to fit
the purpose and objective of the course – giving learners the opportunity to
demonstrate skills developed in applied scenarios. All units are graded to
encourage skills development and performance. Units are assessed using a grading
scale of Pass, Merit and Distinction (or in the event of unsuccessful submission
with a Fail).

Entry Requirements
4 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A*-C) or a related Level 2 vocational qualification (at merit or higher), including English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered.
An art portfolio, containing recent examples of artwork, sketchbooks, photography work, or any creative work you have done. This could be both course work and work you have created in your own time.
An interview will always be required.
A satisfactory reference may also be requested.
