Useful Information

The government requires that all students who have not achieved at least a Grade 4 in GCSE Mathematics retake these qualifications during their time at College.

A Grade 4 in Mathematics GCSE is an important qualification for almost all careers and courses. The Mathematics GCSE course prepares students for the Foundation level GCSE qualification.



Course Overview

On this course students will study topics related to Numbers, Data Handling, Algebra and Space, Measure and Shape.

The course follows the Edexcel Linear Syllabus.

Assessment

This course is compulsory for students who have a GCSE Maths Grade 3 or lower.



Entry Requirements

Students who are successful on this course will be fully focused and committed. They must be prepared to take full advantage of all support and resources available.

The final Grade is based on 3 written papers (two calculator and one non-calculator), each lasting 1.5 hours. Students will have the opportunity to sit the examinations in either November or June.
