Useful Information
The BTEC Performing Arts Level 2 course is a one year
study programme that offers a wealth of practical activities, scenarios and
independent studies for students. The course helps to inspire students to start
thinking about different ways of applying the skills they’ve acquired and bring
the content of the units to life. The students will be studying the Acting
pathway and on completion of the course they will achieve a Level 2 Award in
Performing Arts.
|
Course Overview
Students will study two core units and an optional
specialist unit:
- Unit 1: Individual showcase
- Unit 2: Preparation, Performance and Production
- Unit 3: Acting Skills
Unit 1 is externally assessed and using scenarios,
students will develop their own potential with a view of implementing plans for
their future career. They will use the notion of progression opportunity to
prepare work that can be performance, technical, or design-related and present a
self-promotional response of their chosen progression opportunity. In unit 2,
students will take one or more specific performance or production role(s) and in
unit 3 they will master new skills in at least two styles of acting and apply
them in their performance.
