Course Overview
The aviation sector plays a key role in the UK economy and contributed around £20 billion each year prior to the pandemic. The aviation industry employed around 230,000 people in 2019 and offers career openings in a range of areas, including aircraft handling, aircraft movement, flight operations and passenger services. The aviation sector is key to creating and supporting global connectivity for people, goods and services in all sectors, it is particularly significant in creating the infrastructure for inward and outward tourism.

Course Highlights
During the first year of the course students will learn about the UK aviation industry, health and safety and security in this sector and onboard passenger operations. There will be a trip to the British Airways training centre and students will actively take part in role plays throughout the year in the classroom aircraft cabin.

BTEC Level 3 qualifications in aviation operations gives students the opportunity to make progress in the aviation sector, whether their chosen route is employment, an apprenticeship or university.
