Useful Information

Students will develop an understanding of a broad range of issues relevant to the sector, including:

  • working within the Health and Science Sectors – an understanding of how to collect data in laboratory or clinical settings, complying with relevant regulations and requirements
  • Planning implementing and suggesting improvements to scientific tasks relevant to a laboratory setting.
  • Identifying and resolving issues with scientific equipment or data errors.
  • Managing information and data within the health and science sector
  • Application of safety, health and environmental practices in the workplace


Course Overview

How is the course structured and how will I be assessed?

T levels will be delivered in specially designed classrooms that mirror a working environment in their industry (for approximately 80% of their time). The remaining 20% of their time will be spend on an industry placement with an employer.

An externally-set exam at the end of each academic year to test your understanding of the subject

A skill-assessment to demonstrate your competency skills. Whilst on work placement, you will be set a project by your employer that you must successfully complete to demonstrate your overall breadth of learning.

What employability skills will I develop on this course?

Enables you to develop technical skills and apply them in a workplace environment.

Is there Work experience?

Course Specific Trips & Visits & Experiences

The College runs a number of educational experiences each year to enable students to contextualise their learning. These experiences include trips, work experience and presentations by visiting speakers.

Students undertaking this course will be expected to complete a work placement within an engineering based company.

Entry Requirements

Students wishing to do T Level Science should have at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 including English Language and Maths.
