Course Overview

This short course will uncover the foundations of drawing by experimenting with a variety of materials and techniques to help you develop your skills.

Over 6 weeks, we will look at proportion, mark-making, shape, tonal qualities, and composition. Focusing on subjects such as anatomy, still life, architecture, and portraits, you will learn the tools you need to evolve both personally and artistically.
You will learn:-
• The anatomy - learning how to draw hands and feet
• Experimenting with different drawing materials - charcoal, pencil, chalk
• Tonal qualities - learning how to effectively shade still life objects. Drawing from observation
• Timed drawing tasks - drawing portraits
• Select materials and subjects for personal project, feedback and material experimentation
