Course Overview
This course is designed for those who have an interest in Brickwork, with a desire to work in the construction sector. This course will build on the skills and knowledge learnt at Level 1 and will assist in your progression to become a fully qualified Bricklayer and you will develop and practice the skills required for employment and career progression. Throughout this course you will study a range of subjects, including health and safety, various aspects of Brickwork practical and theory, environment and sustainability, and the construction industry.

Course Highlights
Students engage in enrichment activities and benefit from strong industry connections through employer links, employability events and discussions on apprenticeships and career progression. A requirement of at least 35 hours of work experience is part of the program. For safety, students must purchase personal protective equipment, such as steel-capped boots.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
Upon completing a Level 2 Brickwork program, students can pursue various career opportunities in the construction industry. For further study, students may progress to a Level 3 Brickwork qualification to deepen their skills and knowledge or pursue other construction-related qualifications such as site management or advanced carpentry. Apprenticeships, as well as NVQs in related fields, provide additional pathways for career advancement.

Assessment
Assessment methods include classroom-based learning, where theoretical lessons are supervised by the teacher, and practical training, which involves hands-on activities guided by qualified instructors. Continuous evaluation ensures that students' skills are developed properly, with assessments conducted under direct supervision throughout the program, including practical tasks and online exams.

Entry Requirements
GCSE grade 9-3 (A*-D) in English and maths and a Level 1 Brickwork qualification. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. Evidence of a commitment to learn and the ability to study at this level shown at interview.
