Course Overview
This exciting qualification is ideal for students with a passion for sport, fitness and performance. Students will develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through the study of topics such as anatomy and physiology, fitness training, coaching, leadership and sports psychology. Assessment is through a combination of external examinations, controlled assessments and coursework assignments, providing students with a varied and engaging learning experience. Learning is enhanced through practical activities, research projects, guest speakers and the analysis of current sporting issues and elite performers.

Assessment
You will be assessed through continuous coursework and exams. Assessment methods include: portfolios, video evidence, PowerPoint presentation and discussion.

Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs grade 9-4 and a satisfactory school reference. Including English Language at grade 4 and maths at grade 4 as a minimum. Practical sporting ability is required. A grade 4 in science is desirable as core units of the course include Anatomy and Physiology.
