Course Overview
The purpose of this qualification is to develop the transferable skills, attributes and behaviours needed for learners to progress to further study and ultimately to employment. The qualification is designed to be delivered in an applied way, bringing together appropriate content with practical and technical skills. All learners will study core units that focus on key transferable skills such as research and planning, time management and working with others. Learners will also take a number of sector units. The content of the sector units offers a broad introduction to the skills and knowledge within that sector, allowing the delivery to be practical and active in order to engage learners. Technology units will include for example, designing an interactive presentation, creating animation, creating storyboards, how to do layout design for a digital product, shooting a short film.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
This qualification prepares learners for further learning at a higher level in technology. The development of transferable skills means that learners can also choose a study programme from alternative sectors. For example, this qualification could lead to Pearson BTEC Level 2 qualifications in the sector eg Information Technology, Games and Animation or Esports.

Assessment
Assessment is designed to fit the purpose and objective of the qualification and all units are internally assessed – giving learners the opportunity to demonstrate skills developed in applied scenarios.

Entry Requirements
To enrol in this course, learners must demonstrate a commitment to learning and the capability to study at this level. This will be assessed during the interview process. Educational Qualifications: GCSE grade 9-2 (A*-E) in English and maths.Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered.
