The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) reported that, in 2018, unemployment rates for ethnic minorities were approximately 6% higher than those for white individuals, highlighting the persistent inequalities in the UK. To address these critical issues, it is essential to educate ourselves on supporting and promoting equality and British values. This course offers learners a comprehensive understanding of equality and diversity, providing effective strategies for their promotion. Participants will delve into key legislation, including the Equality Act 2010 and the Equal Pay Act 1970, laying a solid foundation in these vital areas. Additionally, the course will examine significant equality events and movements, such as Gay Pride, while analyzing how British Values apply to individuals living in the UK. Designed to deepen understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion, this course aims to cultivate a profound awareness of the principles that support a fair and inclusive society. By empowering learners with knowledge and tools, it enables them to advocate for equality in both their personal and professional lives.

Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this course; however, learners should have at least a Level 1 qualification in literacy or an equivalent credential. Our Level 1 and 2 distance learning courses are available free of charge for those eligible for government funding, provided you meet the following criteria: - Age Requirement: Must be 19 years or older. - Ages 19-23: You must hold a full Level 2 qualification or higher, such as five GCSEs or O Levels at grades A-C (or 9-4), two or three AS Levels, one A Level, NVQ Level 2, First Certificate, or Principles of Learning Level 2. - Ages 24 and Over: No qualifications are required. - Enrolment Status: You must not be enrolled in any other distance learning course with us. - Residency Requirement: You must have been living in the UK for the last three years.
