Course Overview
This qualification is designed to enhance learners’ understanding of safeguarding adults within health and social care settings. The course comprises four units, where learners will be introduced to the following topics: - Understanding Safeguarding - Principles of Dignity - Duty of Care - Dilemmas and Public Concerns in Adult Health and Social Care Upon completing this course in Dignity and Safeguarding, you will be well-positioned to progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care. Our Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care serves as an excellent foundational step for anyone pursuing a career in the health and social care sector.

Course Highlights
This Course Includes the Following Units: Unit 1: Understanding Safeguarding in Adult Health and Social Care In this unit, learners will explore safeguarding in both national and local contexts, focusing on the protection of adults from abuse. You will learn how to identify and respond to potential cases of abuse or harm within a health and social care setting. Unit 2: Principles of Dignity in Adult Health and Social Care Practice This unit emphasizes the importance of dignity, self-worth, and well-being in health and social care. Learners will examine how these values can be promoted in practice and how individual patients are affected by health and social care services. The application of dignity principles in care settings will also be discussed. Unit 3: Understanding Duty of Care in Adult Health and Social Care In this unit, learners will explore the concept of ‘duty of care’ and its impact on health and social care practices. The unit covers dilemmas and conflicts related to duty of care, as well as the support and guidance available for resolving such issues. Unit 4: Understanding Dilemmas and Public Concerns in Adult Health and Social Care This unit focuses on the various dilemmas that can arise in adult health and social care. Learners will gain insight into how to recognize and address these dilemmas, as well as the types of support available when dealing with them.

Assessment
Throughout the course, learners will be assessed by answering a series of questions. These assessments will be submitted through the online learning platform, EQUAL, and evaluated by the tutor. Learners will receive feedback for each completed assessment, ensuring they can track their progress and improve their understanding.

Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this course; however, learners should possess at least a Level 1 qualification in literacy or an equivalent credential. Our Level 1 and 2 distance learning courses are available free of charge for those eligible for government funding, provided you meet the following criteria: - Age Requirement: Must be 19 years or older. - Age 19-23: You must hold a full Level 2 qualification or higher, such as five GCSEs or O Levels at grades A-C (or 9-4), two or three AS Levels, one A Level, NVQ Level 2, First Certificate, or Principles of Learning Level 2. - Age 24 and Over: No qualifications are required. - Enrolment Status: You must not be enrolled in any other distance learning course with us, - Residency Requirement: You must have been living in the UK for the last three years.
