This course is for those who want to work as plumbers in the building services engineering sector. This course will allow you to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and career progression in the plumbing sector. Course Highlights
Our course will allow you to Learn in purpose-built plumbing workshops, you’ll gain practical skills using hand and power tools whilst developing the right knowledge and gaining experience to work in plumbing.You'll study the theory and regulations of the plumbing industry, including plumbing science and health and safety protocols. The curriculum covers essential skills, such as: Hot and cold-water supplies, Central heating systems, Planning and supervision, Second fixing, Using portable power tools, Health and safety. The course is taught across Tuesday and Wednesday from 5.45pm to 9pm.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
This qualification does not make candidates fully qualified plumbers therefore, we recommend progression to a level 3 plumbing qualification. This could be at a training provider or as an apprenticeship. Alternatively, you may wish to go into employment in the construction industry. Employment opportunities include trainee plumber, pipefitter, plumbing technician and self-employed plumbing.

Assessment
You will be assessed on your completed practical tasks. Written assessment will include multiple choice questions, paper-based exams and written assignments.

Entry Requirements
3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 plumbing qualification including, English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required entry requirements. However, a maths and English assessment may be required.
