Course Overview
The Health and Social Care Qualification is designed as an introductory program for learners who are new to the sector or the workforce. This accessible course is suitable for individuals of all ages interested in understanding the fundamentals of working in health and social care. It aims to introduce essential concepts of caregiving and prepare you for employment in this vital sector. Throughout this practical, work-related course, you will engage in projects and coursework that reflect realistic workplace situations, activities, and demands. While gaining insights into employment in the care sector, you will also develop the necessary knowledge and skills to embark on a fulfilling career in health and social care. To succeed, you will need to cultivate good study skills, including independent research and time management to meet deadlines. Additionally, you will be responsible for sourcing various work placements, and each year will include two examinations. Note: This qualification does not confer competence or a license to practice in health and care.

Entry Requirements
To enrol you must meet the following requirements: 4 GCSEs grade 9-4 (A*-C) or a related Level 2 vocational qualification (at merit or higher), including English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. Evidence of commitment to learning with a genuine interest in health and social care. You will need to source a work placement for 60 hours.
