Course Overview
This course has been designed to allow learners with a
passion for acting and performing, regardless of their previous training or
level of knowledge, to acquire the practical skills and subject knowledge to
progress steadily throughout the course and progress to year two. The aim of the
course is to introduce you to the fundamental skills of acting and performing
with a view to progress to the extended diploma and then onto higher education,
the industry or a pathway of your own choosing. Year one is comprised of two
units, one unit is at least 85% practical and divided into three separate
practical assignments (one each term) and the second unit is a year-long
research unit based on a role of your own choosing within the industry. Through
a series of lecturer led workshops, guest lecturer workshops, group work and
discussion, research and pure play you will grow as an actor and critically
reflective learner.
