The College offers a Diploma in Creative Digital Media Production, which is a practical vocational course designed for students who want to develop research, creative, and production skills in media and print media. Students will collaborate with media companies to pitch ideas, work with production crews to script and storyboard, and edit and present documentaries. The course will provide students with a professional understanding of the industry and the necessary skills for success. They will also have the opportunity to create and develop a diverse media portfolio to enhance their university or media career prospects.

Course Overview
During the course, students will cover the following areas of media: - Responding to a Commission - Film Production – Fiction - Digital Games Production - Sound Recording - Digital Media Skills

Course Highlights
The College organizes educational experiences such as trips and talks by visiting speakers from the media industry. For example, media students were part of the studio audience on ITV’s Loose Women, which reinforced lessons on camera work and editing. They also participated in a storyboarding masterclass and studied set and costume designs at The Harry Potter Studios at Leavesden.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
This course provides a useful background for academic or vocational courses at university, including Ravensbourne, and for employment in media industries such as production companies, PR, advertising, the music industry, or teaching/lecturing in media.

Assessment
The course is assessed through coursework and two external exams. Students earn points from their completed units, which are added together to form an overall grade.

Entry Requirements
Students wishing to pursue BTEC Level 3 courses need to have (or expect to achieve) at least four GCSE passes at Grade 4 or above, including English and Mathematics, and a satisfactory school reference in order to be accepted on a BTEC Level 3 Programme.
