Course Overview
Students will study a wide range of texts from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, including literature, literary non-fiction, as well as other writing such as reviews and journalism. You will read and evaluate texts critically and make comparisons between texts, summarise and synthesise information or ideas from texts.

Course Highlights
The College organizes a number of educational experiences each year to enable students to contextualize their learning. These experiences include trips to The Globe, The National Theatre, Chichester Festival, and talks/workshops from visiting speakers.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
This is a one-year re-sit course designed to give students the necessary reading and writing skills to achieve a Grade 4 in English. This program prepares you for higher studies, vocational training or future career pathways. Successful candidates will be able to progress to A-Level or Level 3 BTEC qualifications, depending on the grades achieved.

This is a one-year course with two examinations, each equally weighted at 50% of the final mark. The exam board for this GCSE is AQA.
