Useful Information
If you are interested in the health and social care of people in the community, then this course is suitable for you. The course includes 100 hours of mandatory work experience integrated into the curriculum. Successful completion of this course will allow students to achieve a standard equivalent to 3 A Levels through coursework and assessment.
Many students pursue Degree and Diploma courses in Health and Social Care related subjects after completing this course. However, it is important to note that some of these courses (such as Nursing and Midwifery) require students to take other Science subjects alongside this course.
All students will undergo a DBS check as part of safeguarding legislation.

This course is assessed through coursework (72%) and an exam over the two years. Students will complete several units of coursework, and the points achieved on each unit will contribute to the overall grade.

Entry Requirements
Students interested in BTEC Level 3 courses should have (or expect to achieve) at least four GCSE passes at Grade 4 or above, with Mathematics at 3 or better, and a satisfactory school reference to be accepted on a BTEC Level 3 Programme.
Additionally, students should meet the following minimum GCSE requirements:
- Grade 4 in English Language
Students will also need to undergo a DBS check.
