Useful Information
At A Level, students will study core mathematics, which builds upon the concepts learned at GCSE, such as Algebra, Graphs, and Trigonometry, as well as two applied units: Mechanics and Statistics. Studying Mathematics equips students with techniques for understanding and solving problems and encourages the development of a logical and inquiring mind.

Course Overview
Students will study Pure Mathematics, Statistics, and Mechanics. Pure Mathematics expands upon the concepts learned at GCSE, such as Algebra, Graphs, and Trigonometry. Mechanics deals with forces acting on bodies and their resulting motions using modeling. Statistics involves the study of data. Students should be proficient in manipulating algebraic equations and should enjoy interpreting graphs. The course is assessed by three 2-hour papers at the end of year 2. All papers are calculator-based. The exam board for this A Level is Edexcel.

A Level Mathematics is a valuable qualification for a variety of Higher Education courses. Assessment
The course is assessed by three 2-hour papers at the end of year 2. All papers are calculator-based. The exam board for this A Level is Edexcel.

Entry Requirements
Students wishing to include A Levels in their programme need to have (or expect to achieve) at least five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including English at grade 4 and Mathematics at grade 7. Students will need a satisfactory school reference.
