Course Overview
On this course you will learn about the UK Travel and Tourism sector and Business Environments in order to prepare you for
progression to higher level courses or work in the sector.

Course Highlights
In Term 1, students will explore the UK Conference and Events Industry, Travel Agency Operations and the Cruise Industry. In Term 2, they will delve into Investigating Cabin Crew, Business Travel and gain hands-on experience through Work Experience. In Term 3, students will focus on core units, including Customer Service, The UK Travel and Tourism Industry and Preparing for Career.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
During this course you will have access to a rich variety of work and employer engagement with trips and guest speakers.Trips include: The World Travel Market, The Outdoor Adventure Travel show, Gatwick Airport and Chessington World of Adventures.As well as regular CV, career development and UCAS support sessions from the lecturers and the College Employability Hub, you will also engage in mock interviews and will be encouraged to gain employment experience.
On completion you can progress onto Level 3 Travel and Tourism or Business. This course opens up a wide range of exciting career opportunities including Travel Consultant, Event Planner, Cruise Director, Tour Operator or Travel Influencer.

Assessment
The course is split into internal assessment through essays, portfolios, presentations and practical assessment and then an external exam. Students will be expected to undertake a one-day per week work experience placement to support their studies in a relevant travel-based industry.The teachers support you through the assessment process with regular progress reviews, homework and challenging tasks.

Entry Requirements
3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 vocational qualification including, English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered.
