Course Overview

Course Highlights
Engage in individual research and develop transferable skills to prepare for higher level studies. You will be equipped with skills such as communication, planning and team-work.Gain practical experience through work related activities, collaborative projects, real life briefs and external trips and speakers. This course gives learners the opportunity to gain a broad understanding and knowledge of the Information Technology Sector as well as some aspects of the creative industries e.g. computer games development. During this course you will explore various units including: Online World, Technology Systems, Digital Portfolio, Creating Digital Graphics, Mobile Application Development, Database development and Multimedia Products.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
On completion, you can progress onto Level 3 IT or a related course. Alternatively you may wish to pursue an apprenticeship. You can pursue job roles such as entry level IT Support, customer service roles in IT or Computer Technician.

Assessment
Assessments are primarily portfolio based along with a few externally assessed modules.You may also be practically assessed in the IT workshops.

Entry Requirements
3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 vocational qualification including,English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered.
