Course Overview
This course will introduce you to the role of public services – including the police, prisons, ambulance, fire and rescue services, army, navy, marines and air force. The Level 1 course will prepare you with knowledge and study skills that will then enable you to study Level 2 in a subject area of your choice. The course combines some practical activities as well as theory to give you an overview of a wide range of subjects.

Studying Vocational Studies at Croydon College is unique;
you will have the opportunity to undertake a range of units that will give you
transferable stills and excellent study skills to enable you to apply to your
chosen Level 2 subject area. You will take part in sport and enrichment. We have
good links with local industries that will help and support your chosen career
path.

On completion, you can progress to a Level 2 programme.

Assessment
You will be assessed in a number of ways, both practical and
theoretical.
You will have to write reports, participate in discussions
or group debates. You will learn how to organise yourself effectively. You will
also be researching your progression and plan for the
future.

Entry Requirements
GCSE grade 9-2 (A*-E) in English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. Evidence of a commitment to learn and the ability to study at this level shown at interview.
