Course Overview
This qualification will allow you to develop key skills and understanding in motor vehicle systems. You will learn the basic skills you need to enrol in more advanced qualifications.
These introductory qualifications are fit for anyone interested in a career working with vehicles: cars, vans, trucks, motorcycles, scooters, cycles.

Course Highlights
Topics covered include introduction to vehicle steering suspension systems, basics of vehicle body fitting, introduction to vehcile wheels and tyrees and introduction to vehcile workshop bench skills.

When a student has achieved this course, they can then
choose to broaden their education and training in other ways from this firm
base.
They can choose:
- To carry on studying Level 4 and upwards
- To start Apprenticeship scheme
- To go into Industry, to work as
technician

Assessment
The assessment of IMI level 3 is made up of three components
which are set by IMI:
- Practical tasks
- Online testing
- Written assignment /
coursework

Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grades 9-4/A*-C OR A related Level 2
vocational course at Merit or higher (if a pass grade is achieved GCSE grades
and/or functional skills results may also be considered);
AND;
Including a GCSE at grade 9-4/A*-C (or equivalent) in
English or Mathematics OR English and Mathematics assessed at Level 1 or above
by College assessment.
Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience
without having the required entry requirements. However, an interview will
always be required.
A satisfactory reference may also be
requested.
