Course Overview
Public Services courses are designed to improve and develop your skills and knowledge to enter the uniformed public services such as the police, fire service, ambulance service, army, royal air force, royal navy or prison service. You will study a range of topics including teamwork, emergency incidents, volunteering, navigation and health and fitness.

Course Highlights
During this course you will have the opportunity to get
involved with a wide range of external activities including:
- Camps, trips, visits and scenario days
- Excellent links with the MoD and other services to give
you relevant information and experience
- Guest speakers coming in to the College to pass on their
experience and knowledge of uniformed services
- Interesting and relevant seminars
You will be taught by industry experienced teachers from a
range of uniformed services based backgrounds who will pass on their knowledge
to help give you an in depth understanding of what a career in the uniformed
services is like.

Career Opportunities & Further Study
On complete, you can progress onto the Level 3 Uniformed Public Services to further develop your understanding and knowledge to prepare you for a career in public services.

Assessment
The majority of your work on this course will be assessed
through internal coursework, however, you will also be expected to complete a
short examination and other externally assessed work.

Entry Requirements
3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 vocational qualification including, English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered.
Mature applicants may be considered on relevant experience without having the required entry requirements. However, an interview will always be required.
