Course Overview
This course will provide you with an interesting and stimulating approach to the study of science. This course covers a wide range of scientific disciplines and is a good choice if you are interested in developing an understanding of science and how to solve scientific problems. As part of the course you will be able to undertake your own scientific research project as well as completing practical assessments. Course units will cover aspects of physics, chemistry, biology, the environment, health and disease and the universe.

Course Highlights
You'll also have the opportunity to participate in field trips, engage with industry guest speakers, and work on mini-projects, such as visits to Ecology Centres for environmental management studies and collaborations with external organizations for eco-projects. Previous guest speakers, including forensic scientists, offer valuable insights into potential career paths.Trips also include visiting the royal institution and the greenwich observatory.

Assessment
Your progress throughout the year will be assessed through a combination of assignments and projects, including practical reports, scientific investigations and presentations. A significant portion of your assessments will focus on practical investigations, with tutor observations playing a key role in your final evaluation. In addition to these internal assessments, there will be some external assessments in the core units, along with a practical assessment that, combined with coursework, will determine your final grade.

Entry Requirements
3 GCSEs grade 9-3 (A*-D) or a related Level 1 vocational qualification including, English, maths and Science. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered.
