Topics and Materials Covered: Creating an Art Image: Explore techniques in still life using oil pastels, coloring, and mark-making. Clay Artefact: Work with air-dry and earthenware clay, utilizing access to our pottery studio. Presenting an Image Using a Camera: Gain hands-on experience in our photography studio and darkroom. Creating Prints: Experiment with mono-printing and lino-prints, with access to our screen printing studio. Researching a Topic: Develop effective research techniques while utilizing college learning resources. Working with Others: Cultivate transferable skills that support progression and collaboration. Creating a3D Art Object: Use a variety of 3D materials to bring your ideas to life.

Assessment

All units are internally assessed and graded to support skills development and performance. Gr Scale: Units are evaluated using a grading system of Distinction, Merit, Pass, and Unclassified. Entry Requirements
To enrol in this course, candidates must demonstrate a commitment to learning and the capability to study at this level. This will be assessed during the interview process and includes: Educational Qualifications: GCSE grade 9-2 (A*-E) in English and maths. Equivalence of these qualifications will be considered. Art Portfolio: Submit an art portfolio that includes examples of your artwork, sketchbooks, photography, or any creative work you have completed. This can encompass both coursework and personal projects. This course offers a solid foundation in art and design, equipping you with the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to advance in your creative career.
