This course starts the week commencing Monday 15th January 2024.
This course is suitable for complete beginners and those with some printmaking experience. You will learn the foundations of printmaking through an exploration of monoprinting activities that will lead onto drypoint, carborundum and collagraph processes. As you are introduced to a new process each week you will be given the opportunity to explore the technique, layering your knowledge as the course progresses. By the end you will have a wide range of printed outcomes, ready to frame and enjoy in your home, or present as gifts. No prior knowledge or experience of drawing is necessary as you will be experimenting with a range of mark making approaches that will produce exciting results. All required tools and materials for the course will be provided including non-toxic inks and standard papers. Specialist printmaking papers and additional materials will be available to purchase where requested. As the course takes place in our professional printmaking workshop and you will be using our two intaglio presses, you must wear sensible footwear.
