The course runs from September to December for level 2 and
from January-July for level 3. Students have the opportunity to do both
courses in one academic year, or do either course as a standalone.
The course runs for two full days a week.
Designed for learners interested in using counselling skills
as part of role in a wide range of sectors, or looking to progress towards
accredited counsellor status with one of the counselling professional
accrediting bodies. This qualification aims to introduce learners to the use of
counselling skills in everyday life and work, and some of the approaches that
underpin the use of these skills.
This qualification gives learners the opportunity to
investigate the knowledge and skills needed to use counselling skills and engage
in a helping interaction appropriately.
This qualification does not qualify learners to practice as
a counsellor.
